The traffic light control cabinet is the core control device of the traffic signal system. It manages intersection safety and operations through efficient, real-time command systems.
Precisely control the lighting time and sequence of traffic lights. According to the traffic flow conditions at different intersections, it realizes various control modes such as timed control and inductive control to ensure the safety and smoothness of road traffic. For example, the green light time is extended on the main road with heavy traffic flow, and the green light time is correspondingly shortened on the secondary road.
Real-time monitor the working status of the signal lights. Once problems such as bulb damage or circuit faults are found, it can promptly send out alarm signals to notify maintenance personnel for processing to ensure the normal operation of the signal light system. For instance, when the red light in a certain direction malfunctions and does not light up, the control cabinet will immediately detect it and send out an alarm.
It can communicate with the computer system of the traffic management center, upload the traffic information at the intersection (such as traffic flow, signal light status, etc.) to the management center, and receive the control instructions issued by the management center to achieve remote centralized control and management of the traffic lights.
The traffic light control cabinet determines the display status of the signal lights through the preset program or the real-time collected traffic flow data. In the timed control mode, the lighting time of the red, green, and yellow lights is switched in sequence according to the preset time interval. In the inductive control mode, the vehicle arrival situation at the intersection is detected through the vehicle detector. When a vehicle is detected waiting, the signal light time is automatically adjusted to give priority to the direction with vehicles. For example, when there are fewer vehicles on the main road and there are vehicles waiting on the secondary road, the control cabinet will appropriately shorten the green light time on the main road and extend the green light time on the secondary road to improve the overall traffic efficiency of the intersection.
